The kindergarten math cafe was open today! To go along with our current Eureka math unit on sorting and numbers 0-5, our kindergarten mathematicians put on their chef hats and followed recipe cards to demonstrate mastery of recognizing and one-to-one counting quantities 0-5. To show their sorting skills, students then had to sort their recipes back into ingredients before grabbing a new recipe card. Their head chefs (teachers) were very impressed with their sorting skills and growing number sense! 🔢

It's been a hot week, but these Patriots are still moving during PE with Mrs Emmons. Physical activity is a great way to reset and movement helps students be ready to learn. Keep moving, Patriots!

Mrs Dirks' 5th graders were busy solving problems involving rounding decimals. Partner work gives students the opportunity to practice a skill while discussing the "how and why" behind the solution.

Short-Term Peace Can Create Long-Term Chaos

Care U is back for Season 5!

In this episode, we explore how trying to keep the peace in the moment can sometimes prevent children from building essential life skills. From rescuing children from discomfort to over-explaining during meltdowns, we reflect on how caregivers can create age-appropriate opportunities to develop patience, resilience, and healthy coping strategies. As always, the conversation invites caregivers to reflect on our practices and focus on the long game.

We hope you enjoy the episode.
